Find out why we’re excited for Buzzfeed’s Ze Frank
A lot of different factors go into a great keynote speaker. They must have a mission that aligns with our event, and their message needs to resonate with our audience. On top of that, we look for innovators who are moving the dial forward in the world of technology.
That’s why I was thrilled to see that Ze Frank, an early internet pioneer producing online content even before the launch of YouTube, had moved to the role of Chief Research and Development Officer at Buzzfeed.
If you’ve been paying attention to online content over the last few years, you’ll know that Buzzfeed has grown to become a media empire with multiple brands and a dedicated News Division. Ze himself was responsible for scaling their experimental social video team into a 600-person operation.
One of the most interesting things I found out about Ze Frank was that he defined many of the standard practices you see in today’s YouTubers. For example, by creating online content using feedback from his community and continually testing and re-iterating.
Our goal as conference organizers is to create a community of like-minded individuals in a physical setting. Ze Frank’s online persona and collaborative projects created one of the early online communities, some of which still lives on today (check out his True Facts series on YouTube). We’re thrilled that these values will find a place on our keynote stage.
See you on November 19th!
