Alex leads the in-store technology CX roadmap at CTC (Canadian Tire Corporation). Prior to joining CTC, Alex led the Strategic Innovation & Data Science division at Sears Canada’s Initium Commerce Lab. Before pivoting to the retail industry, Alex spent 6 years in the digital agency industry, including Isobar Canada and FCB working with high-profile brands, including LEGO, Mondelez, and HBC, and previously in the research industry working with clinical data scientists.

In his teens, he had his first taste of launching a startup. While not quite a unicorn, this experience shaped his career. In 2004 he was instrumental to the founding of Medworxx, a healthcare startup which exited in 2015. That year he cofounded LifeNode AI, a hackathon finalist spinoff.

Today, Alex brings a pragmatic passion for innovation drawing upon insights from across industries, the startup ecosystem, and academic research communities. His focus is on new growth strategies including products & services, business models, markets, and partnerships.
